Project by Maze & Friends: iSi Group: Brand film “iSi World”

Marketing for New York companies. Now make it in German.

Maze & Friends is a marketing agency from Vienna for clients in New York who are taking their business into Germany, Austria and Switzerland. We write the German website, shoot the films, cover your stand at the trade fairs where your buyers are, run the campaigns and make sure AI assistants name you when the DACH region asks in German.

In short: Maze & Friends, a senior-led marketing agency based at Vienna Airport, helps New York companies sell, hire and be recommended in the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland). Typical work: a German website for the European launch, content from New York shows and German trade fairs, LinkedIn and paid media aimed at German-speaking buyers, a careers presence for a first office in Berlin, Munich, Vienna or Zurich, and AI visibility, meaning how ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews answer German questions about your category.

America's biggest investment in Europe speaks German.

New York sells to the world, and much of it lands in German-speaking Europe. Companies headquartered in the United States are the largest foreign investors in Germany, with around €164 billion and a share of about 23 per cent, according to Bundesbank figures compiled by AmCham Germany. US affiliates employ around 592,600 people there and another 30,797 in Austria. In 2025 the US exported goods worth $82.8 billion to Germany and $73.7 billion to Switzerland.

Selling there is a different conversation. Buyers in Frankfurt, Vienna or Zurich read English, but they search, compare and increasingly ask AI assistants in German: Bitkom reports that 67 per cent of Germans aged 16 and over use generative AI at least occasionally. German trade fairs are where many of those buyers meet suppliers, and they are international by design. In 2025, two-thirds of exhibitors came from abroad, with US companies accounting for 4.4 per cent, according to the trade fair association AUMA.

We work on that gap from Vienna. One senior team writes German pages that sound like the market, films your stand and customer conversations at the fairs, runs LinkedIn and paid media in the cities that matter, builds recruiting content for your first hires and works on the sources AI assistants quote in German. We fly to New York for shoot days and workshops, and leave the American market to the people who know it best.

From New York into the DACH region, with one team.

German-language website & landing pages

German pages for buyers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland that keep your brand voice and change the evidence: local references, specific proof, fewer superlatives. German and Austrian law expect a legal notice (Impressum) on business websites, and visitors expect clear data protection information; we build both in, your advisers supply the wording. GA4 and conversion tracking show which page produces enquiries.

AI visibility (GEO): onto the German shortlist

Before a procurement team in Frankfurt or a retail buyer in Vienna calls a US supplier, someone has often asked an AI assistant for a shortlist. GEO, short for generative engine optimisation, is the work of getting onto that list. We run the questions your buyers would ask, in German and English, document whom ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews recommend and why, and close the gaps with German answer content and mentions on sources the models trust.

Trade fair content in Germany, Austria and Switzerland

Many European buyers still meet new suppliers in person, at a stand. We cover your stand, product demos and customer meetings with interviews, recap films, reels and photos, and hand your sales team material for the follow-up. For aws we filmed the Austrian Business Angel Day 2025 with five interviews, an aftermovie and a reel.

Campaigns that follow your buyers across the Atlantic

LinkedIn for B2B, Meta and Google for retail and consumer brands, each aimed at the German-speaking cities and audiences that matter to you and paired with German landing pages. We start small, read the numbers weekly and scale what produces enquiries or sales. For Nachfolger, a maker of child car seats, we ran campaigns in five countries together with a Berlin agency.

Employer branding for your first DACH team

Opening an office in Berlin, Munich, Vienna or Zurich means recruiting against established local employers. We build German careers pages, recruiting videos and social recruiting campaigns that show what working for you looks like, aimed at the profiles you need.

Content from New York shows, cut for Europe

NRF, New York Fashion Week and Climate Week NYC are where many companies present what is new. We film your stand, show or panel in New York with interviews and deliver German and English versions for your European channels and press. For Sumetzberger we produced commercials with a German voice-over and German and English subtitles.

Between New York and Vienna, clearly divided.

  1. 01Initial call

30 minutes by video call, free of charge, at the start of your day and the end of ours: what you sell, to whom in Europe, and what already exists in German. A fixed-price quote follows.

  2. 02Market and visibility check

We look at Google in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, at LinkedIn and at German AI answers for your category, including the US competitors that arrived before you.

  3. 03Quote & contract

Every line item in a fixed-price quote, travel included. You contract with Maze Marketing & IT GmbH, an Austrian company; how a US company is invoiced is set out in the quote.

  4. 04Positioning for Europe

Which US claims hold in Germany, which need proof and which are better dropped. We agree the message with you in English; native speakers in our team then write the German.

  5. 05New York shoot & DACH fairs

Film and interviews in New York, often around a show you attend anyway, plus coverage at the German-speaking trade fairs on your calendar.

  6. 06Go live and report

German pages, campaigns, LinkedIn and AI visibility work go live with tracking to the enquiry. Each month you see which country, channel and message produced conversations.

We are not a New York agency, and the city has plenty.

Our studio is at Vienna Airport. Everything aimed at American audiences belongs with your New York team or agency, and we coordinate with them within your brand guidelines. We take the German-speaking side: the language, the search habits, the trade fair calendar and the sources AI assistants rely on in German.

German copy from us is written, not run through a translation tool, which is why some of your US headlines won't survive the trip. Legal and tax matters, from data protection to setting up a GmbH, stay with your advisers; we tell you early when you need them. Number-one guarantees, bought followers and reviews aren't on offer.

Who we work with from New York.

Fintech, SaaS and professional services

New York firms with a proven product or practice that now need German landing pages, executives who are visible on LinkedIn, campaigns aimed at German-speaking buyers and a place in German AI answers. For iSi Group, an international group, the collaboration brought +150% reach and twice as many B2B enquiries.

Retail, fashion and consumer brands

Brands entering German-speaking e-commerce and retail: German product pages, social content, campaigns and content from the shows and fairs where you present. For Canal Toys, a brand that was unknown in Germany, we built the German shop experience, product pages, guides, newsletters and campaigns.

Companies opening a first DACH office

Firms hiring their first people in Germany, Austria or Switzerland: a German careers page, recruiting video and social recruiting, plus executive communication that introduces the company to the market before the first job ad goes live.

What you can hold us to.

Working from Vienna for clients in New York only works with clear ownership. Here is what we commit to.

One team, one table.

German website, New York shoots, trade fair content, LinkedIn and ads come from one team, which keeps your European launch in one set of hands on both sides of the Atlantic.

Whoever pitches, stays.

The senior people you meet on the initial call are the ones who fly to New York and to your trade fairs. That slows our growth. We accept it.

We count what lands.

German-speaking enquiries, meetings and hires, each traced back to the campaign or page that produced it. Reach is a means, not a result.

Thinking along is included.

If a US claim needs proof that German buyers will ask for, we tell you before launch rather than after the first lost deal.

Frequently asked questions.

Why would a New York company hire a marketing agency in Vienna?

Because selling into Germany, Austria and Switzerland takes German that sounds local, and that is our daily work. Maze & Friends writes German websites and campaigns, films at DACH trade fairs, builds recruiting content for first teams and measures German AI answers. We fly to New York for shoots and workshops, while your US agency keeps America.

Is the DACH region one market?

One main language, three countries with their own details. Germany, Austria and Switzerland share German, but vocabulary, spelling, trade fairs, media and legal requirements differ, and Swiss German drops the ß. We usually start with one German version and adjust where it matters, then decide whether a country needs its own pages or campaigns.

Should our US website simply be translated into German?

Rarely word for word. In our experience, German buyers respond to specifics, proof and local references more than to big claims, so we rewrite the argument and keep your brand voice. Native speakers in our team write the German. Technical documentation can often stay in English, while sales pages, ads and LinkedIn for decision-makers work better in German.

Can you film our stand at a trade fair in Germany?

Yes. We agree the important conversations and demos in advance, film on the day and deliver a recap, reels and photos your sales team can use in follow-ups. German fairs are international: in 2025, two-thirds of exhibitors came from abroad and US companies made up 4.4 per cent, according to AUMA. Travel is listed separately in the quote.

Do AI assistants in Germany recommend US providers?

That depends on how present you already are in the sources they trust. German questions draw heavily on German-language pages, reviews and articles. We test your buying questions in German and English, show you who gets recommended today and why, then build German answer content and credible mentions. Bitkom reports that 67 per cent of Germans aged 16 and over use generative AI at least occasionally.

Can a US company easily contract with an Austrian agency?

Yes. You contract with Maze Marketing & IT GmbH, based at Vienna Airport, receive a fixed-price quote with every line item and travel listed, and pay invoices issued in Austria. Currency and the tax treatment between a US and an Austrian company are set out in the quote and checked with your accountant where needed; we don't give tax advice.

How do you work with our US marketing team?

As its European extension. Your team or agency in New York owns the brand and the US market; we take German copy, DACH campaigns, trade fair content and AI visibility, within your guidelines. A shared channel, agreed file formats and fixed approval days keep the six-hour time difference from slowing anyone down.
