Use it right, and you’ll recommend it.
For KCB Professional Austria, importer of salon products for Austria and Germany, Maze & Friends produced how-to videos, shot in a hair salon with four models. The videos explain the products on the website and on social media, and help salons train new staff.
Maze & Friends from Vienna produced how-to videos for KCB Professional Austria, the authorised importer and distributor of KCB Professional salon products in Austria and Germany. The shoot took place in a hair salon with four models, with planning through to the edit handled by one team. The result: salons find the application easier to understand, use the videos to train new staff, and KCB also uses them on social media.
Describing it isn’t enough, you have to see it.
KCB Professional Austria is the authorised importer and distributor of KCB Professional products in Austria and Germany. Its customers are salons that work with the products and sell them on to their own clients. Anyone who uses and recommends a product in the salon has to master its application. This is exactly what the website was missing: moving images.
The task: videos that show how the products are applied, clearly enough for customers to understand them easily. For this, KCB needed a team to handle production from A to Z, from concept to final edit. And the videos had to work beyond the website, too, as a lasting part of the marketing.

“How do I apply it correctly, and how do I explain it to my clients?”
The two questions every salon asks before recommending a new product.
How the project ran.
Every Maze & Friends project runs through the same nine steps, from the initial call to reporting. The list shows what actually happened in this project.
01Initial call and goalWhich products, which applications, what are the videos for? Website first, with marketing planned in from the start.
02Shooting planSequences, models and shots planned so that every application is clearly visible.
03Shoot in a hair salonFour models, different angles. The products shown where they are actually used.
04Edit and approvalHow-to videos for the website, short reels for social media.
05Use on website and socialVideos embedded on the website and used continuously in marketing.
01Initial call02Analysis03Proposal04Briefing05Workshop06Approval07Production08Launch09ReportingShot in the salon, not in a studio.
We shot the videos where the products are used: in a hair salon. Four different models show the application from different angles. We produced them to a high standard, so KCB can use the videos well beyond the website, as a lasting part of its marketing, social media included.

Four models, many angles
Four different models show how the products are used from different angles. That makes the application clear from several sides, rather than from one ideal shot.

Training included
The videos explain the application in clear images. They can also be used to show new staff how to use the products correctly.

From the website to social media
KCB also uses the videos on social media. This brings the products to the attention of more customers, who then ask for them specifically in their salons.

Hi, I’m Maria from KCB Professional Austria. I would like to thank the agency Maze & Friends most warmly. From planning to execution, everything worked perfectly. The videos turned out brilliantly, and I’m looking forward to more projects. Definitely recommended. Thanks a lot, bye.
Three things that last.

Shoot where it happens
In a real salon, the application looks more credible than in a studio. Customers recognise their own workplace.

Videos are training material
Good how-to videos do more than sell: they also show new staff in the salon how it’s done.

Shoot once, use it again and again
High production quality keeps the videos usable for the website, social media and training for a long time.
