Faces for the rails.
For Bahnoperator, Maze & Friends developed a photo concept and produced business photos in Poznań and Düsseldorf. The company connects more than 72 destinations in China and Europe every week. On the website, the images now show the people who make that possible.
Maze & Friends from Vienna developed a photo concept for Bahnoperator and produced business photos at its sites in Poznań and Düsseldorf. In rail transport, Bahnoperator connects more than 72 destinations in China and Europe every week. The images show employees, working environment, technology and partners. They are part of the website and make the people behind the service visible.
A brand needs faces.
Bahnoperator serves more than 72 destinations in China and Europe every week, connecting markets along its routes. That is made possible by the employees who put the company’s vision into practice every day. Too little of this was visible on the website. The company’s personality and the people behind it were to move much more clearly into the foreground.
What was needed were authentic business photos at two sites, in Poznań and in Düsseldorf. The images were to show employees, working environment, equipment and partners in a way that makes the brand tangible for potential customers. The photos had to feel real while being professional enough to raise the brand’s value. Staged glossy shots would not have done the job.

“Who do I trust with my goods, and who is behind it?”
The question rail freight customers ask before they choose a partner.
How the project ran.
Every Maze & Friends project runs through the same nine steps, from the initial call to reporting. The list shows what actually happened in this project.

Together with Bahnoperator, we developed a photo concept that shows the different sides of the company. At the sites in Poznań and Düsseldorf, we created portraits, images of the working environment and equipment, and scenes with partners. After careful editing, the images became part of the website. The brand presence now shows the people behind the service.

People at the centre
Portraits of employees show who puts Bahnoperator’s vision into practice every day. That makes a company that connects continents personal and approachable.

Work you can see
Working environment and equipment show how much technology and skill go into rail transport. That makes a service tangible that customers otherwise only see on paper.

Partners in the picture
Shots of the collaboration with partners show Bahnoperator as a trustworthy part of a network in global trade, rather than an anonymous provider on a map.
What the shoot delivered.
Source: project documents.
Three things that last.

People build trust
Customers choose people. Portraits make even a large network personal.

One concept, two sites
A shared photo concept makes the images from Poznań and Düsseldorf look all of a piece.

Real beats staged
Authentic scenes from everyday work show competence that a stock image cannot.
