The start-up scene in a brewery, condensed into 18 seconds.
Maze & Friends from Vienna covered the AustrianStartups Summit 2025 at the Ottakringer brewery, the annual gathering of Austria’s start-up scene. The result: a portrait-format recap reel, two subtitled interview reels and 17 photos of the stage, the fair and networking.
Maze & Friends from Vienna covered the AustrianStartups Summit 2025 with event content, meaning film and photos that keep working after the event. The summit is the annual gathering of Austria’s start-up community, with a start-up fair, pitches, masterclasses and an investors’ lounge, held in 2025 at the Ottakringer brewery in Vienna. One event day produced three portrait-format reels and 17 photos.
A dark hall full of founders. Every image still has to land.
Every year, the AustrianStartups Summit brings together founders, scale-ups, business angels and investors. In 2025 it took place on 1 April at the Ottakringer brewery, with panels on stage, a start-up fair, masterclasses and an after-show party. The hall is dark, the light keeps changing and conversations spread across the whole venue.
The task for Maze & Friends: capture the day so that a short recap for social media is ready afterwards, along with subtitled interview reels and a photo series that carries the atmosphere of the hall.

Shot for the phone, cut for the feed.
In 18 seconds, the recap reel sums up the summit: hall, stage, conversations. Two subtitled interview reels give individual voices room, and the photo series captures the same moments for the website and press.

Three things that last.

Read the light
In a dark hall, light decides every image. Knowing the changes on stage puts you in the right place at the right moment.

Sound is optional
Subtitles make interview reels understandable in the feed, even when nobody turns the sound on.

One day, three reels
Recap and interviews are made in the same session. That saves a second shooting day and keeps the follow-up short.
